Apple Cinnamon Water  &  Tangerine, Mint Green Tea

I am so exited to share these simple and beneficial recipe's with you. After losing now 40 lbs in 10 weeks using Ketone Balance Duo I am always looking for easy ways to replace a not so healthy item from my diet to a healthy one.   So, when I came across these recipe's  I went out and purchased the ingredient's and got started.  What are they?  You ask. Well ,let me start out with Apple Cinnamon water which is just that,  Apples and Cinnamon .  That's it!  You have to try this,  you will love the wonderful benefits you get out of drinking this lovely concoction.  So, all you are going to do is slice the apple thinly, combine with a stick of Cinnamon to a pitcher of water.  Refrigerate overnight for best results.  Do not worry about the size or brand of apples or the brand of cinnamon.  I recommend to store Cinnamon in a cool place, away from direct sunlight or heat.  I store mine in my pantry, nicely tucked in a zip lock bag, then packed in a storage container.  If stored correctly your Cinnamon can last up to 4 years.  So , it is worth the work to keep it stored properly.

I can honestly say  I am obsessed with Apple Cinnamon water.   I love how it taste.  You do not need to add any sugars,  it simply taste great on its own.         I highly recommend that you try it and confident you will love it and your kids will too.  I now omit any soda or even juices from my grocery list and kids love it.

Now to the best part, the benefits!

Apples – one of the best fruits you can eat. They’re high in fiber, especially pectin, a soluble fiber that helps promote good digestive health and a sense of fullness. Apples also have a high water content and contain many organic compounds and vitamins that boost your overall health. They’re a great detox food on their own.

Cinnamon – the best natural ingredient there is for weight loss. It contains natural thermogenic properties, which means it will rev up your metabolism and burn a ton of calories in the process. This is true of many spices, especially ones that come with a little heat.

So, as you can see  Apple Cinnamon water is a great way to stay hydrated and it is a healthy option for you, better then any sports drink.

Another great receipe Tangerine, Mint Green Tea.  I usually drink this as a replacement from my usual morning orange juice or coffee.   It refreshing and tasty and also very beneficial.  This recipe I found is highly recommended by the great Dr. OZ referred to as Tangerine Weight -Orade recipe.  I  make literally pitchers and pitchers of this one because I also take it with me in a sports bottle wherever I go.   In a large pitcher combine 8 cups of brewed green tea, 1 sliced tangerine and a handful of mint leaves. Stir in Ice and refrigerate overnight.  Drink 1 pitcher daily for maximum results  Again do not worry about brands or size of tangerines.  To keep mint leaves fresh and potent, dampen a paper towel and gently wrap the mint leaves.  Place these fresh mint leaves in plastic bag avoid sealing completely so air can circulate and refrigerate. Last up to two weeks.  You can also freeze the mint leaves, simply rinse leaves and pat dry, store in plastic bag and freeze.  Drinking this Tangerine Mint Tea works miracles for me combined with my ketone balance duo .

  The benefits?

Green tea-extremely high in antioxidants, especially a group called catechins.  In studies catechin has been shown to be more powerful than Vitamin C and E . Stopping damage to cells.  It is shown to block bad cholesterol and increase good cholesterol. Drops hypertension risk and is high in EGCG which is shown to reduce abdominal fat.  Boost metabolism 12% by drinking just one cup.

Tangerine- rich in Vitamin C sources providing the perfect antioxidants required for the body.  These antioxidants prevent inflammation in the body.  Used frequently used in medical treatments as they fight effectively against skin disease and arthritis. Help absorb iron from food very easily.  Consist of fibers like pectin and hemi-cellulose that restrict the absorption of cholesterol in the gut which cuts the risk of obesity.

As you can see both of these recipe's have plenty of nutritional and beneficial quality's which will help you replace drinks that are not.   I had always struggled with my weight and after my 30's I struggled even more.  I am so happy , feel great and have to share my success.  Combine this with eating healthier and a 20 minute brisk walk and you to will be well on your way to Getting Healthy in 2014. Enjoy,,, and Good Luck!!

Getting Healthy for Baby

Per my calculations when my baby is 20,  I will be 60 years old. Yikes!   Since both high blood pressure and diabetes run in my immediate family it was time for a doctors visit.  First the good news,  I was not diagnosed with  high blood pressure.  Yay!  Bad news I was  pre-diabetic and over weight which is no bueno.
Scary , when it comes to diabetes, the stats are quite alarming.  In the US, 10.9 million people or 26.9% currently suffer from diabetes in the year 2010.  With more time now passed, those rates would be even higher as obesity is still on the rise.
In addition to those who are impacted by diabetes, another 35% of US adults aged 20 years or older suffered from pre-diabetes as well. So, given enough time, they may also be added to the prevalence rate above.
Furthermore, diabetes right now is the primary cause of other numerous health problems such as kidney failure, lower limb amputations, as well as blindness.  Those who suffer from diabetes are also at an increased risk of heart disease and stroke, so add those to the list of reasons why you need to take action to prevent this devastating condition.

Why The Connection?
So why is being overweight such a direct link to diabetes? The primary reason why obesity can set you up to suffer from this health problem is because as you gain more and more weight, you’re going to experience a reduced level of insulin sensitivity. This means your body is less responsive to insulin that is secreted by the pancreas, which is at the heart of the diabetes condition.
Furthermore, those who are overweight also tend to be consuming a diet that’s rich in simple sugars, which also places a high burden on the pancreas to release enough insulin to control it.
Over time, these two issues working together are what lead to diabetes.

Getting healthy for baby.
So what did I do?   First,  I started  taking action with a diet plan.  Reduced all the excess sugars and eating a calorie reduced diet. If your looking for a Miracle Pill don't waste your time and money.   If you need help though consider a fat loss support supplement such as Raspberry ketone .

What are Raspberry Ketones?
With its unique fat burning potential only coming to light fairly recently , with TV's favorite health specialist
Dr. OZ bringing the hidden powers of raspberry ketones to the general republic's attention.
The most exciting discovery of all has been that the keone compound raised the levels of adiponectin in the body.  Adiponectin is a protein hormone that is directly responsible for controlling the metabolism, regulation
of glucose, helps to lower blood pressure and lower levels of body fat.

So, thanks to  ketone balance duo , I feel great and  I am 40 lbs lighter in only two months and a normal A1C test, (A1C. The A1C test measures your average blood glucose for the past 2 to 3 months. The advantages of being diagnosed this way are that you don't have to fast or drink anything.
  • Diabetes is diagnosed at an A1C of greater than or equal to 6.5%)
In addition to that, I also look for little ways to be more active on a day to day basis.  Remember that even moderate amounts of physical activity add up, so don’t think you aren’t making progress if you choose to go for a 10 minute walk.   Take action now so you can have a healthier tomorrow.   It really is worth it, get healthy in 2014 .

Life, Work and a New Baby at 40

My name is angelita, and  I am  41 years old,  a single mom of two.  My son is 15 and my baby daughter is only 4 months old.   A mommy starting over from diapers to sleepless nights.  It's exiting but exhausting.  It sometimes gets stressful and overwhelming but I always have a friend or family member available if need be.  We all need a little help sometimes and that is nothing to be ashamed of.  Being a single working parent is tough.   I am here working hard to keep it all together.  So many changes have taken place over the past two years.  Just working on keeping it all together and now I am determined and  focused on eating better and participating in an exercise regimen.  Looking for ways to get healthier for my sake , and my children.   I will share my experiences, input and process in the hopes that it may be of  help to you.  I welcome your input, comments, and kindly appreciate any advise .  Wish me luck!

Worry Wart......

I never seem to stop worrying.  I ask my mom " How did you do this?"   My teenage son is already asking for a drivers permit which ahhh!  just gives me the chills.  He laughs when I tell him he has to drive with knee pads, and a helmet . In the past,  I have been accused of being a bit of a hovering mother. My son calls me a Worry Wart.   Now I get to start all over again with my daughter.  I am really attempting to change my ways and ease up a little bit.  It's  just taking a little bit of creativity and patients.  For starters I am happy to report baby is in daycare.  This is new to me since I stayed home with my son when he was a baby.  After some research I was lucky enough to find a great day care close to home.  Working and leaving my child in the hands of someone else for 8 hours a day is heartbreaking ,But I learned to be grateful that I found a very qualified teacher/sitter.  She is wonderful and my baby smiles every morning as I drop her off before heading off to work.  I  can be confident she is in good hands which makes my work days less stressful.

Relax and Don't Panic.....

Easy to say but hard to do. Relax?  and   Don't Panic. Yea, right  Ok  gotta try  a great little tool like a baby monitor has been quite a bit of help.  It may sound obvious but I could not get any shores done with out one.  It is great that I can lay baby in her crib with monitor and head to the kitchen to make dinner, clean up, do laundry, etc.  I sometimes get to enjoy my cup of coffee out in the patio. This gives me a breather which is nice.  I  don't have to stop what you are doing every five minutes to rush into nursery and check on baby.  Which was an old habit of mine.  It is a great tool, a must have.
I found  another  way to help ease some stress.  Always be well stocked.  I can not even remember how many times I had to make extra trips to the store for emergency purchases on diapers, baby wipes , and even a few trips for milk.  Just throws everything off.  Yes, it is amazing how baby will go through these items you think you have it covered but Nope.   Purchase in bulk if you can.  It makes life allot easier.
I also suggest to make sure you have a support system.  Meaning to have a family member , partner, or best friend to back you up.  Yes, there will be days when you will not even have time to take a shower.  Take advantage and do not be shy asking others to "watch baby".  Take this time to make yourself a warm bath or long shower.  Take this opportunity to take a breather a short break.  Take a drive to get yourself  takeout or run a quick errand by yourself.  Do not feel guilty you need time for you.   You may  be overwhelmed at times , please remember to take care of yourself too.  You will feel better and in return you can continue to be that wonderful mommy.

It is amazing when you have such a tiny person that will depend on you for feeding, bathing, changing , caring, loving, holding, playing, cleaning, and 100% of your attention.  But follow your mommy instincts and prepare these few tools and you will prove to balance it all out.

                                                              Love, Peace and Patients

Oh My!

Today  I am going to tell you a story that just happened to me.  So , I took baby for her four month vaccinations and to my surprise the nurse advised me it was going to be a total of 4 vaccines by injection and one oral.  In shock my response is " What?  are you serious?"   Oh , my  poor baby.  I mean do not get me wrong I do know my baby needs immunizations. But was just surprised there had to be so many.   I realized  I am not on top of things as I thought I was.   I checked on my phone Google CDC Vaccines,   just to verify.  Not that I did not trust the Nurse I am confident she knows a lot more then I pertaining to this.  But Still I Just wanted to see it for myself.  Remember knowledge is power.  So,  after quickly doing some research I reviewed the Recommended Immunization Schedule and confirmed baby at four months needs her RV-(Rotavin)   DTAP-(Dipthteria,tetanus,pertussis ) Hib-(Haemophilus influenza type b)  PCV-(Pneumococcal) and IPV-(Inactivated polo virus).  After the vaccinations my baby felt fine, no side effects.  Most side effects from vaccinations are mild, such as soreness, swelling, or redness at the injections site. Some vaccines are associated with fever, rash, and achene's. Serious side effects are rare, but may include life- threatening allergic reaction or seizure's. Here is a Figure of the schedule just for your review or reminder .   My baby's next batch coming up at six months.
